Ms. Chang Jae-ok is the author of the first three-part cookbook series written both in Korean and English entitled, ¡°Vignette of Korean Cooking.¡± She has extensively taught cooking for more than 20 years in Cleveland Korean community and has received more than 10 special recognitions and awards from the community. Currently, she hosts her own weekly national syndicated cooking show on Korean radio stations in Chicago, New York and Washington, DC.

She was born and raised in Daegu, Korea. She received her degree in education from Sookmyung Women¡¯s University. In 1970, Ms. Chang immigrated to the U.S. with her husband. For 30 years, she has devoted herself in studying the art of preparing Korean traditional cuisine, and at the same time she has worked to develop ways to modernize and systemize the dishes through which everyone can enjoy preparing them. In publishing her cookbook series in 2005, Ms. Chang expressed her hopes of passing on the Korean tradition and heritage by creating ¡°an understanding of the Korean culture and its customs¡± vis-a-vis Korean traditional cuisine.
